Growing Together workshops
Growing Together is a project where we grow fruit, vegetables and flowers together. This project will continue in 2023-4. We have free seeds that you can collect to start growing and we will support you with online workshops to explain what to do. We want to grow together on windowsills, balconies or in gardens, sharing our experiences and knowledge.
The project was part of Capital Growth’s Community Harvest and we have been growing food together that has been used to make meals for Asian and African Caribbean elders at the Nubian Life Centre as well as for people in the community.
These are workshops we have taking place this autumn/winter:

Fire cider vinegar is a traditional European health tonic said to be good for the digestive and immune systems. With cold season upon us, why not come and join us in making a simple, tasty home remedy full of hot and healthy ingredients! It's even good enough to eat! No doubt we will also have fun activities going on in the garden, too!
Making Macrame Plant Hangers & Paper Making
Saturday 18th November, 11am-3pm
Join us for some cosy winter crafts as well as our usual fun outdoor activities in the garden. We’ll be making a decorative plant hanger out of cord, and some paper out of recycled materials. The projects are really simple, so you wont get tangled up in knots!
The benefits of green manures
Saturday 25th November, 11am-3pm
Green manures are short-lived crops grown for their soil-benefitting properties. Come and learn how to sow, grow and choose the right ones for your garden!
Growing fresh greens indoors in winter
Sunday 10th December, 11am-3pm
If you have ever wondered what edible plants can be grown indoors all year round, then this is the session for you! We’ll discuss and demonstrate growing shoots, microgreens and sprouted seeds. Ideal for those with limited space - all you need is a windowsill for these plant-based projects!
